(JTA) — An Israel Border Police officer was moderately wounded in a stabbing in northern Israel.
After stabbing the 37-year-old officer twice in the back near the Nahariya central bus station on Friday night, the assailant fled the scene, the Times of Israel reported, citing Walla news.
Israeli security forces set up roadblocks in the area in an effort to find the attacker, who is believed to be Arab.
The Israel Defense Forces also surrounded a West Bank village where a car-ramming attack wounded six soldiers earlier in the day. Soldiers also clashed with Palestinian demonstrators in various incidents in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, wounding at least 43 Palestinians, according to Palestinian reports.
