JERUSALEM (JTA) — A tourist to Israel was injured during a rock-throwing attack in Jerusalem.
Rocks were thrown at a group of tourists near the Lion’s Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem, according to Israel Police. The group was visiting Saint Anne’s Church located right outside of the gate at the start of the Via Dolorosa.
A woman in her 60s was hit in the head with a rock during the incident. She was taken by ambulance to Hadassah University Medical Center on Mount Scopus.
The Lion’s Gate was the site of several stabbing attacks in October at the beginning of the current wave of Palestinian stabbing attacks.
Police were searching for the attacker or attackers.
