(JTA) — The Palestinian Authority banned the import of products from five Israeli food companies into areas of the West Bank under Palestinian control.

Retaliating for Israel’s halt of imports from five Palestinian companies earlier this month, the Palestinian governing body on Tuesday banned products from Tnuva, Strauss, Tara, Soglowek and Tapuzina, the Times of Israel reported.

On March 10, Israeli troops barred trucks from the five biggest Palestinian dairy and meat companies from entering Jerusalem, according to Al-Monitor.

Israel did not explain the decision, Al-Monitor said. Israel’s action “appeared to be the first time since 2010” that Israel barred West Bank products from entering eastern Jerusalem, the Times of Israel reported.
