Three public menorahs vandalized near Atlantic City

They were repaired in time to be lit again for Hanukkah.

(JTA) — Three public menorahs were vandalized in a New Jersey city near Atlantic City.

Margate City police are investigating the incidents, which took place on Sunday night, according to local reports.

One of the damaged menorahs stood outside the Milton and Betty Katz Jewish Community Center, and another was located down the street. The third menorah was vandalized less than a mile away at a local pier.

An arm of the JCC menorah was broken off, and another menorah was pushed over. At least one of the menorahs was vandalized more than once, according to nj.com.

The menorahs were repaired in time to light them again over Hanukkah.

Margate City, which has a population of approximately 6,300, is about five miles from the resort city in South Jersey.
