More than $1, 000, 000 was contributed here tonight to the United Jewish Appeal by 250 guests at a dinner sponsored by the National Jewish Welfare Board at the Ambassador Hotel. The dinner was tendered in honor of Samuel S.Schneiderson, noted Jewish philanthropist.
Mr. Schneierson received a bronze plaque, awarded him in appreciation of many years of outstanding community service. He is president of the Jewish Education Committee and a member of the boards of directors of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, the New York Association for New Americans, Mt. Sinai Hospital and Jewish Child Care Association. He is a member of the board and a former general chairman of the campaign of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York, and is on the board of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies.
