A total of 1.334 Jewish immigrants entered Canada via its ocean ports in 1954, the smallest number since 1945 and a 62.8 percent decrease under 1953 it was revealed here today in a report by the Canadian Jewish Congress.
Immigrants of 43 different ethnic groups entered the Dominion in 1954, 29 showing a decrease over the previous year and 14 showing an increase. The largest ethnic groups entering in 1954 were German, English and Italian in that order.
