Ten persons were arrested in Rehovoth today, in the aftermath of a raid by some 200 Rehovoth workers on a Revisionist housing project yesterday. The raiders demolished six partially completed buildings.
The Histadrut executive today expressed its sorrow at the turn of events, pointing out that destruction of the buildings runs counter to all Histadrut tradition in labor relations. The executive denied that the Rehovoth labor council was involved in a dispute with the Revisionist labor organization, but said it was protesting the failure of the contractors to hire local workers. The contractors, who are also Revisionists, have addressed a protest to Minister of Labor Golda Myerson.
