About 100 Jewish families were left homeless and destitute in Ecuador by the earthquakes that struck the country, according to a cabled report received here today by HIAS from its office in Quito, No Jewish fatalities have been recorded, the cable said. The HIAS office here will undertake to obtain information for American Jews about relatives and friends in Ecuador and will transmit money to afflicted Jews there at no charge.
