The Jewish and Arab youth of Israel met today in another effort to gain understanding of each other’s problems and of the nation in general.
Some 600 Arabs and 400 Jews met near Kfar Vitkin for an all-day multi-event gathering. Sandwiched in among folk dances, sports events and other performances were several speeches including one by Moshe Sharett, former Premier, who spoke equally fluently in Arabic and Hebrew and who was roundly applauded by the Arab young people.
At the end of the conference, all 1,000 young people set out on a two-day tour of the Negev to the port of Elath, to obtain a firsthand understanding of the nation’s development problems.
