A prize of $1,000 for the best full-length play for children in English on a Jewish theme was announced here today by the Jewish Theatre for Children. The contest, the third annual event, is designed to stimulate a dramatic literature in English for elementary and junior highs school children to give expression to Jewish ethical and spiritual values. The theatre, a professionally-operated group, is supported by grants from the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York and the Jewish Education Committee of this city.
