More than 10,000 Allied soldiers and officers attended a Chanukah festival in the Guild Hall at Nottingham last night. The mayor of Nottingham was among those present. Addressing the audience, Prof. Seling Brodetsky president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, linked the Maccabee period with the present situation of the Jews in Europe. He thanked the city of Nottingham and other towns in England for the welcome they have given to Jewish refugees.
