Ten thousand of the 30,000 men’s clothing workers who went on strike Thursday are expected to be at work today following the signing of new wage agreements, Joseph Schlossberg, general secretary of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers, said yesterday.
Workers who have been on strike during the past week, yesterday participated in many demonstrations against the firms that have not settled with the union. The greatest demonstrations took place before the Rogers Peet and Company establishment at 14th Street and Broadway, and the firm of Rose Brothers. Lefcourt Building.
Following the demonstrations, the strikers assembled in various halls throughout the city and listened to reports made by the union officials on the progress of the strike. Union leaders expressed themselves as being highly satisfied with the attendance at the meetings, and the spirit displayed by the strikers.
