At the same time, the mass-meeting held by the demonstrators adopted a resolution protesting against the arms deal between Israel and West Germany.
Yaakov Zerubavel, a leader of the leftist Achdut Avodah, addressed the mass-meeting. Warning that the recent outbreak of anti-Semitism is “a threat to the whole world.” he declared that Israel “must not arm Germany.”
