Establishment of a L25,000 Jochelman Trust Fund for maintenance, education and vocational training in connection with emigration of persecuted Jewish children from Eastern Europe, was unanimously voted today at a Jochelman Memorial meeting convened by the Federation of Jewish Relief Organizations, of which Dr. Jochelman had been president until his death last July.
Prof. Selig Brodetsky, president of the Jewish Board of Deputies, declared at the meeting that Dr. Jochelman was “one of the most practical Jewish statemen of his day, and his death is a loss to the whole Jewish people.” Mrs. Israel Zengwill and other Jewish leaders also spoke.
