It was officially estimated today that 110,000 Jews will be thrown out of work when the ban on Jewish commercial travelers and sales agents enters into force on Oct. 1.
The estimate is three times higher than previous estimates from Jewish sources. It is assumed the higher figure includes Jews in Austria as well as thousands of Jews holding licenses as a sideline to other businesses. Jewish salesmen are most numerous in the textile, wine and household wares trades, insurance and the show industry.
