The eleventh annual convention of the K’Nesseth Ha’Rabonim, the Assembly of Hebrew Orthodox Rabbis, opened here this afternoon in the presence of one hundred delegates, representing Jewish communities from Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, St. Louis, Montreal, Toronto and many other cities.
Rabbi Simon Glazer of New York, chairman of the Executive Committee, presided at the session which was opened with the singing of Hatikvah and the Star Spangled Banner.
In his opening address Rabbi Glazer stated that the K’Nesseth Ha’Rabonim has been in existence for 28 years, and that it was chartered eleven years ago.
Rabbi W. Margolis, the Nasi of K’Nesseth Ha’Rabonim, was introduced by Rabbi Glazer. He received a great ovation.
The convention was greeted by Rabbi Jacob Mendelson in the name of the Newark Jewish Community.
An Executive Committee for the convention, was elected, consisting of Rabbi Simon Glazer, chairman, Rabbi Jacob Mendelson, S. D. Posner of Jersey City, A. Hurvitz of Boston and M. Etter as vice-chairmen and Rabbi Menachem Margolis as Secretary.
