A total of 150 Jewish publishers and booksellers have been eliminated in Austria in the last year, it was revealed here by Wilhelm Baur, leader of the German Chamber of Booksellers and Publishers, in an address at the annual convention of the German Booksellers Union.

A Propaganda Ministry spokesman warned publishers at the conference that the authorities were keeping them under strict surveillance. He complained that “racial ideas still find too small a place in novels, while good and solid novels about Jews are almost entirely lacking.”
