More than 15,000 remittances, totalling about 2,000,000 Marks, have been made to Germany to date with Haavaramarks (emigration Marks), it was announced today by the local office of Intria, Ltd., which represents organizations for the transfer of Jewish capital from Germany. Haavaramarks sell today at about half the official Mark rate and have the sanction of the German Government, it was stated. They can now be used for benevolent remittances to Austria as well as Old Germany.
