A total of $1,500,000 in Israel bond sales was pledged last night at the opening here of the Canadian national campaign for Israel bonds. The drive, which was officially launched by Israel Minister Dov Joseph, seeks to sell $10,000,000 worth of bonds.
Samuel Bronfman, national co-chairman of the drive, who chaired the meeting, pledged a family subscription of $300,000 while Hyman Grover, chairman of the Montreal campaign, subscribed $100,000. The Labor Zionist Organization of Canada and the Mizrachi Organization each undertook to sell $500,000 worth of debentures. Henry Montor, executive vice-chairman of the bond drive in the United States, was among the speakers at the dinner.
