1,750 Immigrants Arrive in Israel in 24 Hours; Most Come from Rumania and Poland

A total of 1,750 immigrants, most of them from countries behind the Iron Curtain, arrived in Israel within the past 24 hours. One thousand and sevonty arrived at Haifa from Rumania this morning, aboard the liner Transylvania. Last night 500 immigrants from Poland and North Africa were debarked.
