A joint $3,250,000 campaign for Jewish relief work in Europe and for the settlement of Jews in Palestine was announced here today by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and the American Palestine Campaign for 1935.
The campaign will be headed by Felix M. Warburg as national chairman. Associated with him as co-chairmen are Rabbi Jonah Wise and William Rosenwald for the Joint Distribution Committee and Morris Rothenberg and Louis Lipsky for the American Palestine Campaign.
TO CONTINUE REFUGEE AID
The campaign will be conducted under the name of United Jewish Appeal. James G. McDonald, the High Commissioner for Refugees from Germany, will continue to receive support from this campaign for his work of settling Jewish refugees in different countries.
The announcement of the joint drive points out that the Joint Distribution Committee and the American Palestine Campaign will each administer the funds placed at its disposal, as heretofore, and will have entire freedom of action with respect to their several programs.
