Two Jews died today in continuing disorders. A special policeman, Jacob Alexenberg, 27, of Rumanian origin, succumbed this morning to wounds received last night when attacked while guarding the outskirts of Rehoboth. A worker, Eliahu Sokolnik, was shot dead near the new Government hospital in Haifa. Ghaffir Shragai Simon was seriously wounded in the same attack.
Arab inmates in the Nur-el-Shemsh prison seeking to escape overpowered and slightly injured a Jewish sergeant. Police fired at the Arabs, killing one and wounding two of them. Two of the prisoners succeeded in escaping.
