Ludwig Vogelstein and Rabbi Samuel Schulman, both of New York, were the main speakers today at the concluding session of the International Conference of the World Union for progressive Judaism.
Liberal Judaism is able to combine a 3,000-year-old tradition with the mental and spiritual requirements of the day and with the achievements of science, Vogelstein said, adding that religion stands above race because all religious people have something in common.
Rabbi Schulman asserted that the heritage of Judaeo-Christian civilization will continue.
