About 200 American singers, organized in four or five choirs, will participate in their first choral festival in Israel which will take place next August, it was announced here today at a press conference addressed by A. Z. Propes, representative of the Israel Government’s Tourist Department.
The American group will be composed of members of all Jewish singing societies in the United States. Members of the group will practice from now till August on Hebrew and Yiddish songs. Participating in the festival will also be choirs from Britain, France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Finland, Norway, Switzerland and Tunis, Mr. Propes stated.
