More than 2,000 guests will attend a concert and supper party at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel tomorrow night to celebrate Dr. Chaim Weizmann’s 73rd birthday. Each guest will pay $250 to attend the affair and the proceeds will go to the Weizmann Institute for Science.
The affair was originally scheduled as a dinner, but an unexpected offer from Serge Koussevitzky and the Boston Symphony Orchestra to play a concert as a tribute to Dr. Weizmann caused a change in the program. The veteran Zionist leader will make the only speech of the evening. A group of representative women from all parts of the United States as well as from Canada and Palestine, under the leadership of Mrs. George Backer, will serve as hostesses at the affair.
