More than 200000 new homes will be built in Israel over the next five years at a cost of $2.8 billion, Housing Minister Zeev Sharef told the Haifa Maritime and Economic Club. Sharef said the housing would be available for young couples and immigrants. He said $2000 units will be built in the next two years, a sufficient number to house large families now living in slums or in homes too small for them.
