Representatives of 5,000 fraternal and benevolent organizations in the metropolitan area launched a special $2,000,000 campaign which will provide matzoth and other Passover necessities to destitute Jews throughout the world through the agencies of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York, at a conference of the Appeal’s Council of Organizations held today at the Barbizon Plaza Hotel.
The 1,000 delegates assembled at the conference also pledged themselves and their organizations to begin an all-out drive on behalf of the United Jewish Appeal’s general city-wide campaign for $35,000,000 to help finance global relief, rehabilitation, resettlement and welfare activities. The special $2,000,000 campaign for Passover necessities will come to an end on Sunday, March 24.
