The 20th anniversary of the Yiddish State Theater in Poland was celebrated in Warsaw with a gala performance of “Meir Ezofovitch,” the drama by Eliza Orzeskowa, 19th century Polish authoress. The performance was attended by the Mayor of Warsaw, the Deputy Minister for Culture and Arts, the director of the Ministry’s theatrical department and other dignitaries.
Ida Kaminska, director of the theatrical group, was presented at the performance with a large basket of flowers sent by Lucien Motika, Minister for Culture and Arts. Oral greetings on behalf of the Jewish Cultural and Social Association, were delivered by Dr. David Sfard.
