The congregation of The Temple here, which is headed by Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, has been notified by government authorities that a fleet of 23 hospital planes bearing the name of The Temple will be purchased with the $2,500,000 derived from the sale of war bonds by the congregation since the inception of the Third War Loan Drive this month.
The Temple has announced that it expects to sell an additional $500,000 worth of bonds before the drive ends. Mrs. David Kyman, chairman of the synagogue’s bond committee, broadcast today over station WHK as a reward for being named Cleveland’s “Woman of the Week” in the war loan campaign.
