More than 250 delegates representing forty-five congregations in New England will attend the ninth annual convention of the Eastern New England branch of the United Synagogue to be held here Sunday at Mishkan Tefila Congregation. The principal speaker will be Louis J. Moss, president of the United Synagogue of America, who will address the afternoon session of the convention on “Present Day Activities of the United Synagogue.”
The evening session will be devoted to a celebration of the Octocentennial of the medieval Jewish scholar and sage, Moses Maimonides. Dr. Israel Efros, a member of the faculty of the University of Buffalo, will speak.
Representatives of congregations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine and New Hampshire will attend the convention.
