A gift of 2,500 from the “Louis D. Beaumont Trust” to Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, to be used for educational work in this country, was announced Friday by Mrs. Samuel W. Halprin, national president of the organization. Mrs. Halprin said that the contribution is from a special fund established some time ago by Commodore Louis D. Beaumont, vice-president of the May Department Stores Company. Commodore Beaumont became interested in the cultural activities of Hadassah through Dr. I. S. Wechsler, associate professor of clinical neurology at Columbia University, when they met recently on a trans-Atlantic liner.
