A campaign to raise a quarter of a million dollars for the erection and maintenance of a centre of Hebrew education has been launched in Montreal. It is proposed to construct a modern Talmud Torah, replacing the inadequate Jewish schools now scattered throughout the city.
Sir Mortimer B. Davis, well-known Canadian philanthropist, has promised to donate twenty per cent of the amount raised by public subscription, to the extent of $50,000. as his personal contribution.
