With $26,800 raised at the opening of the Allied Jewish Campaign on Sunday evening, the launching rally was virtually transformed into a victory-dinner when at the close of an impassioned plea for the Jews of Eastern Europe and the pioneers in Palestine, the contributions came within $8,200 of the $35,000 goal.
Nineteen teams of from ten to twelve workers, including the leading men and women of the Jewish community, organized to canvass the city for additional contributions will, in the opinion of Clarence J. Strouss, campaign chairman, have no difficulties in topping the original quota by a wide margin.
