The 26th victim of the Lydda Airport massacre–Tzvi Guttman, 69, of Ramat Gan–died of his injuries Friday night at the Ichilov Hospital here. He had suffered severe head injuries. His wife, who was also wounded by machinegun fire and grenades in the airport terminal, was reported to be improving.

The death toll in the May 30 massacre now stands at 28, including the two Japanese gunmen slain. (The Jewish National Fund of America announced in New York last week that a woodland would be planted in Israel in memory of the air travellers gunned down in the massacre. Meyer Pesin, president of the JNF of America said it would be located in the John F. Kennedy Memorial and Peace Forest which the JNF established in 1966.)
