Frantic last minute efforts were reportedly being made today by the family of an Iranian Jew scheduled to be executed today in the city of Hamodan, west of Teheran.
The Jew was one of three brothers sentenced to death, two of them in absentia, by a revolutionary court, for allegedly cooperating with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency and Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service, Iran Radio, which reported the sentencing over the weekend, said an appeal was being made to Teheran for clemency.
Nothing could be learned here at this time about the identify of the three brothers or of the present whereabouts of the two who were sentenced in absentia.
