The prestigious Bialik Literary Award of the Tel Aviv Municipality was presented to three Israelis by Mayor Shlomo Lehat last night. The recipients were Israel Cohen who was cited for outstanding contributions to Hebrew Monography in his book, “Yaacob Steinberg–the Man and His Creation”; Chaim Guri, the poet, for his book “Marot Gichzi”; and Prof. Yehuda Kolamosh for his work of research, “The Bible in the Light of the Translations.”
Prof. Kolamosh was credited with important research involving the various Aramaic translations of the Bible. Guri was cited for deep insight into the problems of the generation of Israelis that produced the fighters for Israel’s liberation and witnessed the ascendency of great ideals which, in the present generation, are fading.
