3 Jewish Groups Founded in Poland to Promote Emigration

Two organizations to promote Jewish colonization have been founded in addition to the Jewish colonization committee, of which chief Rabbi Moses Schorr chairman. One of the new bodies is the committee for the promotion of Jewish pioneering and colonization in Madagascar and Kenya, which has the backing of Major B. Lepecki, Polish army officer who headed a Government investigating committee last year to survey Jewish settlement possibilities in Madagascar. The second, with headquarters at Wilno, is a committee to promote emigration to Africa and Australia. it is headed by Joseph Czernichow, attorney and leader of the Freiland league.

The need for a constructive Jewish emigration program to be carried out in collaboration with State organizations was stressed by Foreign Minister Josef Beck in an interview with a delegation of the colonization committee which called on him to inform him of its activities.
