A joint conference of three women’s organizations, the New York chapter of Hadassah, Ivriah, the women’s group of the Jewish Education Association, and the women’s league of the United Synagogue of America, will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Jewish Theological Seminary, 122nd street and Broadway, to celebrate the 800th birthday of the Jewish philosopher Maimonides.
The conference, second of its kind ever to be held jointly by the three women’s groups, will be attended by more than 300 Jewish women, according to Israel Chipkin, director of the Israel Friedlaender Classes, under whose auspices the meeting has been called.
Professor Henry Slonimsky, professor of ethics and philosophy at the Jewish Institute of Religion, will be the principal speaker.
Other speakers will include Mrs. Dora Inselbuch, cultural chairman of Hadassah; Mrs. Clara Ostriker of Ivriah, and Mrs. Weiner of the Women’s League. Mr. Chipkin will preside.
