A campaign to raise $30,000 amng New York Jews as a memorial to the late Leo N. Levi, the thirtieth anniversary of whose death was observed here a few weeks ago, was launched here today, it was announced by Edwin Brucks, national executive committee member of the institution. The money will be applied to the maintenance fund of the Leo N. Levi Memorial Hospital at Hot Springs, Arkansas.
This institution, which has been in existence since 1914, occupies a four story modern fire-proof building. Part of the ground on which it stands was donated by the United States government which supplies it with curative hot water from federally owned thermal springs. The institution has a bed capacity of seventy-two and serves only those who cannot afford to pay. It treats helpless victims of acute articular and infectious diseases.
