Nineteen women and eighteen men who were arrested Tuesday on charges of disorderly conduct while picketing the Star Knit Goods shop, Broadway and Prince street, yesterday were given the choice of five dollars fine or one day in jail by Magistrate Richard McKiniry in First District Magistrate’s Court.
All the pickets served the day in jail. The strikers were also charged with violation of a Supreme Court injunction, which had been taken out by the Star Knit Goods, but their counsel disproved this.
