Close to 400 singers, members of seven Jewish choirs from the U.S. and Canada, are scheduled to participate in the “Hazamir” World Assembly of Jewish Choirs to be held in Israel August 6-14, it was announced here today. The first meeting of four of the participating choirs took place in New York last night. Over 270 people attended.
Mr. Shlomo Kaplan, musical director of the “Hazamir” who is now in the U.S. to help organize ; American participation, conducted this first joint rehearsal. A committee comprising representatives of the seven participating choirs was formed to assist the directorship of “Hazamir” in technical matters.
