Forty thousand Iraqi Jews have already registered for immigration to Israel, it was revealed here today. The Jewish Agency has initiated discussions with the Israel Government on the ways and means of effecting the immediate transfer to the Jewish state of those who have already registered.
The first group of 220 Hungarian Jews allowed to migrate to Israel landed in Haifa last night. They form the initial contingent of some 3,000 Hungarian Jews granted permission by the Budapest government to proceed to the Jewish state.
