You will rejoice with us to know that 10,000 Jewish families, comprising 40,000 souls, in Russia alone will be receiving food parcels this Passover as the result of our efforts, says a report which the Federation of Jewish Relief Organisations here has sent to the President of the Federation, Chief Rabbi Dr. J. F. Hetz. The Federation allocated £2,000 for the purchase from the Soviet Government stores under its agreement with the Soviet Government of food supplies and in addition collected from relatives of Jews in Russia in this and other countries a sum of £7,200 with which further food supplies were purchased and distributed.
