More than 42,000 children will attend the 224 resident and day camps operated by Jewish Community Centers and YM-YMHAs throughout the country during the 1951 camping season, beginning July 1st, it was announced today by the National Jewish Welfare Board. The J.W.B. is the national association of Jewish Community Centers and YM-YWHAs.
Thirty resident country camps sponsored by JWB-affiliated Centers will accomodate 14,000 youngsters. These camps, in addition to swimming, hiking, nature lore, sports and other usual camp activities, offer the Jewish child many of the elements of Jewish cultural and religious tradition, music, dancing and folklore.
