Forty-eight of the nation’s governors are joining to make an unparalleled gift to the Jewish National and University Library of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, it was announced today by the Very Reverend James A. Pike, president of the New York Chapter of the America-Israel Society, the organization which advocates close cultural ties between the United States and Israel.
Rev. Pike, who is Dean of New York City’s Cathedral of St. John the Divine, revealed that each of the governors had contributed volumes of their state’s history to the America-Israel Society for forwarding to the Jewish National and University Library of the Jerusalem university. The presentation will be made at a dinner of the Society and the American Friends of the University.
