A former diplomat and a leading Israeli doctor were among the five victims of the worst highway accident in the Jerusalem area in recent years. All five were killed yesterday when the interurban taxi they were riding in from Tel Aviv was hit by a truck that skidded in the rain. The dead were identified as Shmuel Shelef, former Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines; Dr. Yaacov Cohen, chief epidemiologist of the Ministry of Health; Rabbi Zvi Halberstam of Bnai Braq and his 12-year-old son, Shmuel; and Danny Zevuluni, the taxi driver.
