A resolution for unification of existing agencies combating anti-Semitism to avoid duplication of work and set up more efficient machinery for spreading information was adopted by fifty Jewish leaders, acting as individuals, at a meeting called by Sigmund Livingston, chairman of B’nai B’rith’s Anti-Defamation League.
A committee of 18 was provided for to carry out the purposes of the resolution, an announcement today said, and a committee of six appointed to facilitate the program. Judge A.K. Cohen of Boston heads the smaller committee, which also includes Henry Monsky of Omaha; Charles Sommers of Indianapolis; Dr. Hyman Ettlinger of Austin, Tex.; Arthur Goldsmith, New York and Judge I. M. Golden of San Francisco.
Officers appointed at the opening of the meeting, which was held Nov. 14 and 15, were Mr. Livingston, chairman; Alfred Benesch of Columbus, O., and L. Lewis Cohen of Chicago, co-chairmen, and Richard. E. Gudstadt, secretary.
