One thousand Jewish refugees in an I.R.O. refugee reception center near Milan went on a hunger strike today in protest against an I.R.O. order that 500 Jews in the camp be transferred to another DP center.
The protest began following the I.R.O.’s cancellation of the 500 refugees’ nation books as punishment for their refusal to obey the transfer orders.
