A 5,000-year-old bone statuette, less than 15 inches tall, has been discovered at an excavation near Beersheba by French archaeclogist Jean Perrot, it was reported here today.
The statuette, considered a very important discovery, was found in a mass of stone uncovered at the Saphir Excavations. M. Perrot believes that the figure was made in the Chalcolithic period.
