Fifty thousand persons are expected to participate in the “Quest for Peace” parade up Fifth Avenue here Sunday, saluting Israel on its 21st birthday. Ogden R. Reid, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, will be a grand marshall. “This year’s parade has an exciting array of floats, bands, dancing and singing groups,” said Theodore Comet and Stanley E. Stern, parade chairmen. The parade will be on the theme of the Jewish people’s longing for peace. Guests will include UN Ambassador Yosef Tekoah and Consul General Rehaveam Amir. More than 100,000 spectators from the metropolitan area are expected to view the three-hour parade which will start at Fifth Ave. and 57th St. and proceed up Fifth Ave. to 86th St. May John V. Lindsay is honorary chairman.
